Company History
LSC Group was founded in 1988 to offer consultancy support and software tools to the fast growing Integrated Logistic Support community. Since then, the Company has established an enviable reputation for its innovative approach to solving customer problems. This has entailed the strengthening of our logistic consulting capability through the addition of both strategic and desktop software development capabilities across asset management, electronic documentation and supply chain management, backed by an investment in technology that maintains our solutions at the leading edge of IT.
In June 1998, LSC Group was acquired by the incumbent management team with venture capital backing to spearhead the Company's ongoing growth. At the same time, the management team acquired the aerospace division of Brandt Computer Holdings, resulting in a company of some 140 employees and a turnover in excess of £10M pa.
LSC Group's ability to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions was further enhanced by two more acquisitions:
- In August 1999, LSC Group acquired the LOCAM Computer Aided Process Planning Business from SER Systems Limited. LOCAM is the only PC-based system that is able to automatically analyse, estimate and plan the manufacture of mechanical spares using data defined according to the ISO 10303 (STEP) AP224 neutral data format.
- In May 2000, LSC Group acquired the Weymouth-based technical authoring company, Solvera, from the Pennant International Group, consolidating LSC Group's position among the leading European companies in the Electronic Document Management sphere.
LSC Group's market position was further consolidated in November 2001 with the acquisition of LSC Group by Devonport Management Limited (DML). This strategic acquisition by DML enabled LSC Group to continue to provide high-quality, impartial support solutions, but with the backing of a major Defence prime support contractor.
Through acquisitions and organic growth, LSC Group has maintained a strong growth profile since the in-house acquisition and now employs some 200 people, all of whom are committed to meeting the Company’s purpose and vision.
