Document & Content Management

The Defence sector has an ever-growing reservoir of information that is regarded as a valuable corporate asset. As a requirement of the Freedom of Information Act, much of this information needs to be placed in the public domain. As a consequence of the current e-Government strategy as articulated in the electronic-Government Interoperability Framework (e-GIF) and the Freedom of Information Act (FoI), the implementation of a content management solution is a key element in achieving compliance.

Despite the Internet revolution, the basic premise for the delivery of information remains the same: create, review, manage, assemble, publish and archive. This cycle remains intact with the intelligent utilisation of XML (Extensible Mark-up Language)*.

LSC Group’s XML based content management solutions structure enterprise-wide processes for content creation, content management, content assembly and content presentation.

The Proof of Concept implemented by LSC Group for the Ministry of Defence Corporate Technical Services-Technical Documentation demonstrated the benefits of content management in the defence sector. LSC Group has subsequently implemented numerous content management solutions in the defence, government and other public sectors for both public facing web sites and secure intranet/extranet solutions.
