The e-GIF Requirement
The e-Government Interoperability Framework (e-GIF) is based on Internet focused industry standard technologies. At the highest level, the e-GIF is shaped by 3 key decisions – alignment with the Internet; the adoption of XML and the browser as the key interface.
The e-GIF focuses on standards based solutions to ensure interoperability between public sector organisations (including The Ministry of Defence (MoD)) covering:
- Interconnection
- Data integration
- Content management (including metadata)
- Access to e-services
