LSA & Support Data Management
Logistic Support Analysis (LSA) is an integrated set of related activities the purpose of which is to:
- Utilise support considerations to influence design activities
- Promote early identification of potential support problems and cost drivers
- Identify support related resource requirements
- Develop and maintain a single database for support data
LSA is an inherently iterative process: As project requirements or equipment designs change, LSA ensures that the support implications of those changes are considered and addressed.
The LSA activities required for UK MoD procurement contracts are defined in Part 1 of Defence Standard 00-60, and LSC Group has been involved in the development of this standard since its inception. We have a unique record of providing LSA managers, analytical staff and consultancy support to the UK MoD, industrial contractors, suppliers and OEMs.
Support Data Management
LSC Group can provide specialists experienced in managing Logistic Support Analysis Records (LSAR) databases, such as Omega PS, Eagle and ILOG; or can develop smaller bespoke logistics databases for specific project or organisational requirements.
An area that is often neglected in the support environment is that of Software Support. Any system or equipment that contains or is reliant on software for its operation will, at some time, require support for that software - and this falls within the Support Engineering LSA domain. LSC Group is experienced in the analysis of software and its support requirements and can provide assistance in all aspects of this area.
