Supportability Modelling
LSC Group uses both COTS and bespoke software tools to deliver a wide spectrum of supportability modelling solutions. The COTS tools which we utilise include probabilistic simulation and deterministic parametric models, whole custom models, developed in-house, can range from simple event-driven and tailored spreadsheets to complex stochastic simulation tools.
The particular model and methods employed on a project are correlated to the CADMID life cycle, exploiting the changing system information as it evolves through the life cycle. The complexity of the deployment and support structure of the system under consideration and the required degree of prediction accuracy are also taken into account when selecting and applying analytical methods.
With extensive experience in advanced Monte-Carlo simulation methods, LSC Group can handle many real-world phenomena that are generally beyond the scope of the more traditional analytical methods. Typical examples of these common - but analytically intractable - characteristics include component ageing, condition-based maintenance, variable system demands, time dependent support strategies, system level spare parts distribution, incomplete and uncertain data-sets, and component interactions.
