LSC Group has detailed experience in establishing IT infrastructures to ensure that the benefits possible in a Defence Standard 00-60 environment are fully realised.

Defence Standard 00-60 is a standard designed to provide a complete support infrastructure including Logistics, Provisioning and Technical Documentation. LSC Group has been instrumental in the design and development of the standard and has participated on the Electronic Documentation Sub-Group for the many years. It is through this participation and involvement that LSC Group has gained an enviable understanding and practical knowledge of the standard and its requirements.

Traditionally technical documentation has been developed as a separate activity at the end of a design and build project. It has historically made little use of any other available support data.

The Defence Standard 00-60 model ensures that technical documentation is an integral part of the support suite and that it is fully integrated with the logistic support analysis conducted during the design and development of the equipment. The figure below details all the support elements that are undertaken as an integrated and coordinated activity. LSC Group’s unique understanding of these elements and processes allows it to replicate this philosophy in the production of a technical documentation project, thereby maximising the value of information generated, driving down the cost and ensuring the maximum re-use of information across the support domain.

LSC Group is actively participating in the migration of Defence Standard 00-60 to Product Life Cycle Support (PLCS). This process is still in its relatively early phases but will further expand the philosophy and principles of Defence Standard 00-60.
