Defence Information, 17-18th April

The development of the Whole Force Concept and the establishment of the Joint Forces Command, the transformation of DE&S and DIO, the establishment of the MOD's Chief Technology Officer, the continued rationalisation of the Defence Industrial Sector and the adoption of cross-governmental policies all have significant implications for effective and efficient closer working across Team Defence.

Defence Information 2013 (DI'13), jointly presented by the UKCeB and Cranfield University at the Defence Academy, will explore this challenge and provide an insight into the real issues. Two discrete days will examine how a Team Defence approach to valuing information as an asset and secure collaboration can deliver common solutions to common problems, including increased interoperability and secure information sharing, combined with better data to support decision making.

LSC Group will also be featured on the interative panel on Day 1; Tim King, Technical Manager IKM, will review the need for Coherent Information, Data Quality, Information Value Chain Analysis, Contracting for Information, Information Skills, Enterprise Architecture and Information Standards.

DVD 2013, 19th - 20th June

Millbrook Proving Ground, Bedford

DVD is one of the most important events in the defence diary for those involved in the equipment and support for the UK's Land Forces. DVD is Defence Equipment and Support's (DE&S) annual stakeholder event for the Land Equipment community. DVD brings together the acquisition community with military personnel and industry organisations for two days of informal discussion and briefings.

As the sector continues to deliver the highest levels of technology, capability and service for the UK's Armed Forces, DVD provides an opportunity to meet and share ideas about issues affecting current and future equipment and support. Transforming Support is the major theme for DVD2013 through which MOD intends to encourage innovation and discussion in the efficient support of land equipment, where previously acquisition and UORs have dominated.

Held over two days at Millbrook Proving Ground, Bedfordshire it is organised by DE&S, which is the part of the MOD responsible for equipping and supporting the UK's Armed Forces for current and future operations.
