LSC Group’s management team will be walking the heights of Snowdon, Wales on 29th April in order to raise funds for the Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen Families Association (SSAFA) Forces Help. Each participating member will aim to raise £100 by taking part in the walk, looking to reach a target of 3k for this worthy cause. The Lichfield based company, chose SSAFA as its corporate charity earlier on this year and is continually looking at ways to raise funds for the cause. The walk will be another significant step towards the 10k annual target LSC Group has committed to raising for SSAFA Forces in 2010. Another recently launched initiative was the ‘’Let’s put all our energy into SSAFA’’ campaign, encouraging staff at it’s head office in Lichfield to switch off and save -meaning that for every £1 they save in terms of gas and electricity £1 will go to the SSAFA Norton Home in Selly Oak, Birmingham. Karen Woodgate, SSAFA’s Corporate and Event Manager says, “The support we have received from LSC and their employees so far has been fantastic we look forward to continuing this in 2010”. SSAFA (Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen Familhttp://www.birminghampost.net/birmingham-business/business-social/thrive-corporate-social-responsibility/2010/03/19/charity-climb-for-midland-software-firm-65233-26069438/ies Association) Forces Help is the national charity committed to helping and supporting those who serve in our Armed Forces, those who used to serve, and the families of both. SSAFA Forces Help has been serving the Armed forces and their families for well over a 100 years and their work is vital today more than ever before. George Webb, LSC Group Managing Director, has been a supporter of this charity for many years, and says, “SSAFA is a charity close to our industry’s hearts. I am keen to encourage the LSC Group management team to unite in raising money for this worthy cause. The walk up Snowdon is not only an excellent team building exercise but will give us all the satisfaction of jointly achieving a common aim in support of this fantastic charity".
