Commercial Manager gains Distinction in LLM Commercial Law

LSC Group is pleased to announce that Chris Eggleshaw, Commercial Manager has recently completed a LLM in Commercial Law and passed with distinction. With commercial contracts becoming increasingly complex, it has been particularly interesting and valuable for Chris to take an in depth look at various aspects of commercial law – all of which impact on the structure of modern contacts.

Chris comments: ‘’In addition a first acquaintance with French contract law for my dissertation has enabled me to put many of the peculiarities of English contract formation into perspective and better appreciate the potential for unintended pre-contractual liability in the business development process.’’

Chris’s role as Commercial Manager requires him provide commercial and contractual support to Business Development Managers throughout the sales cycle, as well as holding responsibility for the governance aspects of the company’s commercial activities. This advanced understanding of commercial law will positively assist in protecting LSC Group’s commercial interests.

With a varied background having worked in companies such as Lloyds TSB, GEC, Siemens and BT, before moving onto smaller companies where Chris has held Directorship roles, he has now been with LSC Group for five years. He studied his first degree, a joint honour in Economics and Economic and social history, and following from that completed professional qualifications in Law and Accountancy.
On receipt of the LLM he comments: ‘’I’m absolutely delighted to get the award, it’s been hard work but clearly it has been well worth the effort’’.
