The Hercules Integrated Project Team (IPT) is responsible for the management and support of all Hercules aircraft.
With increasingly dispersed supply chains, and the obvious complexities associated with managing the Hercules capability, the Hercules IPT and its stakeholder community recognised the need for better, more efficient means of communication.
LSC Group has worked with the Hercules IPT since 2003, initially being tasked with undertaking a feasibility study to evaluate the requirements and identify options. As a result of the study, the IPT contracted with LSC Group to implement a Collaborative Working Environment (CWE).
The IPT looked to build on the CWE a suite of tools which could support the business and in particular a financial management system. One of the biggest challenges facing any IPT is the effective management of its finances.
LSC Group designed and implemented a Commitment Management System (CMS) that would improve the visibility of the IPTs financial picture - enabling them to track, manage and report against their budget using a single common interface.
Most recently, LSC Group has designed an e-enabled Through Life Management Plan (eTLMP) for the IPT that provides them with a single source of strategic management information that supports all Through Life Management Planning related documents, plans and sub-plans.
The CWE has become a key part of the operation of the IPT and is now deemed to be a business critical system.
